Installation Guidelines
To ensure long-term performance and prevent structural damage, installation must be performed by qualified professionals.
Preparation: Ensure the piping system is clean. Remove protective caps and inspect ports for debris.
Alignment: Confirm that connecting pipes are perfectly aligned. Excessive misalignment creates installation stress that can damage the valve.
Correct Tooling: Use a wrench or pipe tongs with appropriate torque on the hexagonal or octagonal portion of the valve closest to the thread being tightened. Never apply force to the opposite end, as this may deform the body.
Thread Sealing: Use PTFE sealant on the pipe threads only. Follow ISO 228 standards for thread length; do not over-tighten, as "bottoming out" the thread can damage internal sealing surfaces.
System Support: Provide adequate support to prevent piping weight from stressing the valve.
Pre-Service Check: Verify pressure and temperature ratings match the system and cycle the valve fully (Open/Closed) once before commissioning.
Operating Instructions
Function: Male Female Thread Ball Valves are intended for on/off service only. They must be kept fully open or fully closed and should not be used for throttling (flow regulation).
Mechanism: These are bidirectional valves. The handle position indicates the flow direction.
Water Hammer Prevention: Do not close the valve too abruptly to avoid "water hammer" effects (sudden pressure surges).
Handle Usage: Only use the factory-supplied handle. Never use extensions to increase leverage, as excessive torque will damage the internal components.
Inspection & Maintenance
General Care: Regular maintenance is typically unnecessary beyond occasional cycling and stem packing checks.
Filtration: It is highly recommended to install a filter at the system inlet to protect the valve's internal seal.
Leakage Control: If a stem leak occurs, tighten the packing nut clockwise by 1/4 turn. The PTFE packing is designed for compensation.
Safety Warning: Never attempt to repack or disassemble a valve while the system is pressurized. Always relieve pressure first.
No Disassembly: We do not recommend disassembling two-piece valves for part replacement, as this usually compromises the body/tailpiece integrity.
