Installation Guidelines
1.Clean and prepare the piping system thoroughly before installing the valve.
2.Before installation, remove any protective end caps and inspect the valve ports and seating surfaces to ensure they are clean.
3.Provide adequate support for the valve to avoid stress from connecting piping.
4.Confirm that the valve’s pressure and temperature ratings are suitable for the intended service conditions.
5.Before placing the Flanged Check Valve into service, cycle it fully from open to closed to verify smooth operation.
6.After installation, check that the packing nut is properly tightened.
Note 1: Flanged Check Valves can be installed in horizontal or vertical piping with upward flow, or in intermediate orientations, provided the hinge pin on swing-type check valves remains horizontal. Install check valves at an adequate distance from pump outlets or other turbulent flow sources. Refer to the relevant technical bulletin for details.
Note 2: Some check valves may include internal packaging to protect the disc during shipping. Remove all such packaging material before installation.
Operating Instructions
Flanged Check Valves operate automatically and do not require manual intervention.
Inspection and Maintenance
1.Routine inspection and preventive maintenance are generally not required, aside from occasional adjustment of stem packing and periodic cycling of the valve from open to closed.
2.If a packing leak occurs, tighten the packing nut clockwise by about a quarter-turn—or until leakage stops—to increase sealing pressure on the stem packing. Never repack a valve while it is under system pressure.
3.When replacing the valve stem, also replace the packing material.
Replacement Parts
Under normal operating conditions, replacement parts are seldom needed. Recommended spare parts for each valve type include: Disc, holder, and hinge assembly.
When ordering parts, please provide the valve’s figure number, size, required part, and approximate age.
Maintenance
1.Regular cleaning. To avoid the influence of impurities and sediment in the pipeline on the check valve, it is necessary to regularly clean the all-copper horizontal check valve and the inside of the pipeline.
2.Note alternating cold and hot water operations. Frequently opening and closing the check valve will cause damage, so alternating cold and hot water operations should be avoided.
3.Note pressure. When using the all-copper horizontal check valve, attention should be paid to the pressure situation inside the pipeline, as excessively high pressure will have an adverse effect on the check valve. In short, the all-copper horizontal check valve is a commonly used device in pipeline systems, and its use and maintenance are very simple and easy. In actual use, users should operate and maintain according to the above requirements to ensure the use effect.
